those who don't know anything about the place... what sort of place does it look? would you want to go there?

Well it doesn't seem very popular!! :)

Or maybe we are talking alien abduction again. Half finished pool game, lights all on, candles lit...

Ah, stupid me. It's obvious! Vampire bar in Worcester!! Bit like with mirrors, they don't register on digital sensors!!

Nice lighting and PP by the way!

Do you think these are good promo photos ... Or would they be better with people in ...
I think this sort of thing can look quite classy? But are people more attracted to a busy pub ...
My "marketing" instincts tell me these work for the type of pub ... But I'm wondering if other people would think differently ...

They do make it look more classy! But I suppose it's what image he wants to portray, the place is small will lots of people make it look over crowded and take the "character" away, it's the gimmick and charm of the place and you can see it clearly here. I really like them mate. bad idea shooting it busy anyway, when I went there it was full of ugly people apart from me but suppose that's why it's your local :)

That's quite tricky Hamish. I think if the owner wants to advertise events then empty is better. But for a bar, a few models having 'fun' would be good I think. Maybe you can recruit some of the more photogenic locals with the bribe of a free drink, stick the owner behind the bar looking busy and maybe include Tom to add a spot of local colour (you know the sort of thing, the modern equivalent of the wizened old codger by the fire nursing a small scotch!!). :)

Wow! Good shots Hamish! About time you got these sorted, weren't we in the cellar bar having a drink a few months back? And even then you were trying to nail the shots you were looking for. Very impressive!

Apologies for not posting/visiting much recently folks, I'm extremely busy swimming my way through just over 1600 photos at the moment from a wedding me and Curt done the weekend! Went very well, loaded with inspiration from a bundle of mags I have been kindly given (thanks pete) I should be able to show all some results, when all cleared.

Great pictures again Hamish!!

They look good but I do think a few people in them would be good. TBH I am a bit put off by the dusty shelf, spills on the bar and the marked tables. I think the shots would look better after the owner has had a bit of a major clean and polish.

Thats clean for the cellar bar Paul ... It has a certain "charm" to it that is unavoidable :)

Might need to sort out a shot with some pretty people in but as Dan says I have been down there a few time now trying to get shots for him, but it's not so easy ... It's a small bar, smaller than it looks and when busy it's really busy ... But a bit empty and it looks really empty ...

go and take some at 4am i think that would be a true reflection !!!! haha yeah maybe some fitties in nice frocks drinking spritaz at the bar.............. you see it would look nice but thats not what the cellar is about.... its more of an (hate to do this) indie type bar . you cant polish a turd hamish maybe a true reflection is whats needed????? regardless i really like em!

That's the thing though Tom ... That's what everyone thinks it is ... But it's not that ... It used to be ... But when was the last time you went there and heard that sort of music ... Or saw that sort of people there ...
Its just a bar now, and that's what Glen has been trying to achieve for years ... It's just our out of date perspective that makes it like that ... And the fact it's a little bit "rustic" ;)
