the boat in the marsh

taken with the drone. this is one of those shots i've wanted for a few years, but never managed to get until today. you can see this boat in the marsh on satellite and you can sorta see it from the road, but you can't get out to it. at least, not without a drone.

thanks gary. the marsh grass is still greenish in some spots (around the boat and islands of green in the background), so i blended it all to brown so it isn't as distracting. the rest of the color (or lack thereof) is pretty true to the scene. the dark brown thing sticking up is a rusty motor. i use the satellite image layer on google maps for planning a lot of photos.

(PS- I was hoping the satellite would have been a Top-Secret CIA puppy you highjacked for your personal photography ... or maybe a stealthy Chinese satellite you hacked into turning a lens towards the marsh ...)

Is the marsh nearby? Should you have attempted to photograph the boat via foot or airboat or equal ... would mosquitos and biting flies been a problem?

thanks, he's considered a local around here even though he lived across the border into pennsylvania. we spent a few school trips at an art museum that showcased his work.

well....who knows who is really running those satellites that google gets its imagery from. it might be the cia, or the chinese or maybe the mlb, if bart simpson is to be taken seriously.

the marsh is nearby, but it's not in a place i normally pass. mosquitos are a major problem. i was outside of my car flying for roughly 5 minutes and got bit a few times. i wore a hoodie because i knew the bugs would be bad. that's also why i'm not shooting at the wildlife refuge, too many bug swarms.
