The Devil's Arrows...

Another grey, damp summer's day driving a round trip of 179 miles to photograph The Devils Arrows (or at least two of them) at Boroughbridge near to Thirsk or York depending on your direction. Another of our ancient monuments that seems to be almost overcome with housing estates.

Grey, dull day = Grey, dull photograph. I was amazed at how close to this ancient monument a large housing estate had been built. I wonder if the same fate will befall Stonehenge ? Maybe it will one day become Stonehenge Meadows ?

Nikon D4S with a Nikon 135mm f2 lens. ISO 200. Program mode.

i wish we had stuff like this in the us. but we'd probably tear it down and build housing developments on top of it too. glad you were able to capture this before it's surrounded by the uncivilized civilization.
Excellent choice of words.
