X-T1 and 23mm Lens with 4 stop ND Filter - Elinchrom Quadra Hybrid for fill-flash

Christine was a rock star - she had waves crashing into her, ocean winds blowing her away, and never ever let it effect her work.

And yes she is tall - 6'1" without heels! :)

Love the sun set Chris...... Horizons straight....... Nice colours...... Yeah, nice shots!:D

Glad you could appreciate the scenery Dan! :D

Ace set - superbly lit :)
Thanks Dave - Always been a big fan of your use of fill flash

A little surreal...subtle sexy...a whole lot a nice work. Yup...I love it.
Thanks Glenn

lovely set Chris
Thank you Aldous - it was a lot of fun

A great set Chris. I have a soft spot for the first mono image mainly because of the pose and especially her expression; she seems less aware of the camera and her mind could be elsewhere. But I'm sure she is pretending:). The fabric shows up well on this one too and sort of mirrors the swirling nature of the clouds. I enjoyed the last two colour ones because the fabric changes it's usefullness and could be taken as a fishing net; bad day fishing;). The colour and atmosphere in these colour ones is beautiful.

Thanks Tom - that fishing theme gives me ideas…

We took two colors of toile for the shoot - I think the lighter works best generally, but I'm thinking a bright red with matching clothing might be a real winner as well

A very classy set Chris and the lighting has worked very we I think. And I agree with all the comments about the netting etc. Nice poses too. Might be nice to diffuse the light a touch in the follow-up session just to keep the edges of the shadow a tiny bit softer. What do you think? Would that be possible?

Thanks Pete - yes, I just received a couple of brollies for the kit yesterday - 33" silver bounce, and 33" translucent shoot-through, so will deploy these in future shoots to diffuse the lighting.

I also have a small soft box - but I need a better light stand in order to deploy that safely!

I can only second what everyone has said here. A mature beautiful model, a wonderful light and a master at work with seemingly a great tool, and a situation which calls for more. If nothing's perfect I still say this comes as close as possible.

Beautiful shots! And thanks for that write up, great info there.
Thanks Aaron

Thanks Ivar - always something to improve upon - I needed to shoot a few from a lower angle to get the horizon on the lower third, and the model looking even taller - oh well, next time
