Critique Welcomed The Girl With The Pearl Earring (1665)

I was thinking of the Vermeer when you posted Fly earlier today. Seen many homages over the years, and yours is very nice, Mauro!

It is a lovely portrait, Mauro.

Since you welcome a critique may I'll make a comment. I mean this in the most positive way possible. (And, I am no portrait photographer and I absolutely know nothing about proper lighting, so my comment is as much question as it is critique.) The bright spot on her forehead above her right eye distracts me. Is it possible that a softer light or a deflected light might have reduced that bright spot?

Despite my critique, I stand by my words Mauro: Its a lovely portrait. :)

The pose and composition are wonderful. I think the bright spot could be tuned down if the data is not blown out there. A little other processing might hide the pores and bumps which would take this beautiful portrait to an even higher level. I'm just offering this advice but I have no clue as to how to accomplish my suggestions.

As has been said - really nice pose but it needs a bit of work on those overexposed areas to take it from good to great.

If you shot RAW you may be able to pull those areas back. If not then it's a Photoshop clone/heal job.
