How about a simple curves adjustment to increase the contrast between her and the snow behind - I held back the sky with a mask over the curves adjustment.

Its great. I commented on the facebook version as you know, but the version on facebook lacks the impact of this one. (I guess due to whatever kind of image suppression and/or blah blah blah technology that facebook uses.)

Don't say that out loud. The Council seem to be going out of their way to ruin Edinburgh, and at great cost.
