The Lagoon

Two more images from the Windswept Land series. These show a lagoon recently excavated in the corner of one of the fields. It is intended to catch run-off from the fields after recent heavy rains flooded several basements in the houses nearby.

I saw these in the Showcase first of all, and came here looking for them. I like them a lot - the general toning as well as the compositions. They look old fashioned, without being deliberately retro. The trees look like toy ones from a train set. They are lightly odd images, and intriguing - a good combination. Good work, Pete.

Thanks Rob. Walking down into the lagoon proved to be a good idea as allowed me to place the horizon at the edge of the lagoon itself and exploit the marks left by the excavator. It will be interesting to see how this changes over time. It is only a month or so old.

This landscape is very evocative Pete

Interesting idea - inland lagoon

I do not think I would ever have considered taking foties of this lagoon. But based on what you hve produced here, Pete, clearly I should consider doing so if I ever see one in the future! :)

Interesting to see all the little things that pop up on the horizon, like a miniature village. Were they taken around the same time Pete? I note the different in light or possibly processing. It is particularly evident in the gables of the houses.
I can see them sitting neatly alongside all the others for a great series.
