The Lute Player

We have a a society in Edinburgh dedicated to lute and historical guitar playing, and I was resident photographer for the meetings. This was apparently taken in 2016 with a Canon G10 pocket camera. I really like it, but the lute player himself was not too pleased when he saw it. I can't think why.

There is a collection of some of my other shots from these meetings here, should you be interested: https://scottishluteandearlyguitarsociety.wordpress.com/photosbyrm/ - naturally I do not feature in any of them.

I like that - a nice balance of blur and detail, nice light - what's not to like? Well, we should ask him I suppose. ;)

His artistic appreciation evidently doesn't quite reach as far as impressionistic photography... same as mine (what there is of it!) doesn't extend to historical lute playing... 🤪 shame really but I guess one can only have so many interests. (he says optimistically!)
