I'm still not happy with the other image, but I've decided to leave it for now. There's too much variation between sunset and daylight through trees and now heavy cloud at dusk. I feel I don't have a chance to get the hang of one before I'm off doing something else. I'm struggling with my "new" Photoshop too and for some reason images look darker here when I post. I think it's time to give Huey another outing...
This was the tree I was talking about and it took me over an hour to find it in the middle of Dartmoor. After taking this, I packed up and still had a mile to walk back to the car and then a two hour drive to the B&B. The processing sort of happened, mostly without intention. The photographs I have seen of this place are all with wonderful sunsets and strong colours. I didn't get that weather, but for some reason I think I prefer it
Just edited to say that I was so desperate to find this, as I walked over with the camera still on the tripod, I was telling the sheep that this was MY tree for the evening
