The Pond, Gross Himstedt

This is a view I have photographed many times, and shared here quite a few too. This is the pool dug to capture run-off from the fields and so save the cellars of the houses nearby from flooding. It has been very dry over the last couple of months and so it is empty and the sandy soak-away and stone channels can be seen.

The first thought that entered my head was, "I've seen this before". But not exactly. I love the line of trees, with the electricity pylons trying to pretend they're one of them. Is that a grain silo, left of centre? The path and lines provide interesting detail. Good one, Pete!

Just noticed the trees getting smaller as they get further away. Just in case that confuses some of us here, let Father Ted explain:

This strikes me as a fine documentary photo Pete. The kind that years from now you or someone else will look back on and say see what it used to look like. Very simple but meaningful image.

Yes seen this image or place before Pete and each time it always surprises. The foreground does break the organised row. Excellent image

There hundreds of these in just a few km radius of this point.
Hundreds being erected here also. It appears for investors it is a win win situation and become more about government grants and incentives than alternative power. I know they are very noisy at times. We also have large acres of fields that have been planted with solar panels.

Even here they are planted, and yes you are so true Julian. It is a wind - wind situation and fraudious on a high level. Generating only money, one way. And to the image, I can only second what others already have said. An image that stands the time if preserved.
