The Press in the Pavilion

Otherwise know as Zooey
I know we went to the De la Warr exhibition a day before it opened officially, but of course the coach was already on the roof. What really bothered me was that because of all the VIPs being taken around, the top staircase was closed. It looked interesting too and there I was stuck on the ground floor. What else was I to do but photograph the press instead?

Blimey, I don't think I've ever seen so many people on the staircase in one go. I like it. When I still lived down there you often used to see Spike Milligan in the cafe having a cuppa with his elderly mother. The never used to be that much on the upper floors but it's a great building. As I said before, it's such a shame that they made such a poor job of the refurbishment. It deserves better.

That's odd - my husband asked what I was looking for. I said one single anonymous person in black (which I got) and then a lot of people. As you said, I waited a few minutes and the place was pretty empty. Then the press turned up, so I struck lucky. I must admit that I expected to be more in awe of the place. I liked it, but it did look a bit run down and tatty round the edges - as you said, it's a shame :(
