The Pumpkins

I spotted these guys in our village while I was rushing Bailey ferret to the vet yesterday morning. Thinking he would be OK for a while, I went back later with the camera, but I couldn't do much. They were too high for me to try a sideways on, shallow DOF approach, so all I was left with was a pumpkin panorama. The surroundings were cluttered too, so I've gone a bit mad with Nik. I've actually done nothing with the colour. It's a rubbish photograph, but they make me smile...

Some people take their pumpkin carving very seriously you know. I don't know if you can eat the flesh from this type of pumpkin but you can toast the seeds. Kerri tried it this year but said they were horrible. She didn't realise your supposed to shell them before eating them! I dont think its a bad photo at all. I hope Bailey Ferret is OK.

I think its an awesome photo Lesley, a fun take on Halloween & defo worth taking the effort to photograph i like the pano idea also

Paul yes you can eat the flesh in these pumpkins, diced & roasted is lovely, or even made into a nice spicy pumpkin soup is good. Alternatively cook & puree mix with eggs, cream & sugar and make a pumpkin pie dessert
