Joking aside, it is an extremely interesting photo because it poses more questions than it answers. Too bad the subject in the background is so far away and so close to the edge of the photo, but it still has good contrast with the background to stand out with eerie clarity. I change my vote to a Hugo.

[And by the way, those large leaves near the water are Petasites not Arctium lappa].

Thanks, Gianluca. I’m also disappointed the figure in the background was so far away, but am amazed I was quick enough to time the splash perfectly - quick actions and a lot of luck.

On second thoughts, the figure is perfectly placed in the middle of a break in foliage behind him, and also the river leads towards him. Hmm, maybe the image is better than I initially thought. Sometimes it takes a long passage of time to ‘see’ a shot.
