The Chinese,...? Impossible. They're rubbish at football. It was the Brazilians, circa 300 BC. No wait, they're rubbish football right now, too. Must have been the Germans, circa 400 BC. Yeah,...that's it,...it was the Germans.

Alright, alright I give in. It probably wasn't the Swedes, nor the americans who invented themselves. I think Rob is right, it must have been the Scots, and it still is a menace, while we leave Brian in his normal condition, quite bewildered!
There is nothing wrong with the football, I played it myself from early on till adulthood. But it is the greed and the money that has got in the way unfortunately and I may ad; I do not enjoy it that much anymore due to that fact!

I much more enjoy rugby which was a very large part of my younger years. But even that the money has changed the game somewhat, although not too the extent of football by far. I cannot deny anyone a good wage, yet the spoilt childish behaviour which seems a large part of football is difficult to watch.
I wouldn't know too much about the Rugby game, but it may have originated from the fights with the Vikings I believe. I have been to Rugby last year, a cozy little town where I bought myself a real good tweed jacket!

Rugby and football are spin offs from the same game. (So too is American football, which spun off Rugby.)
It all began with some Saxon hooligans kicking the skull of a poor Roman around. This led to Shrovetide Football. Eventually in the mid-1800s the rules were codified and this is when the two games split. Later the forward throw and the line of scrimmage caused the split between Rugby and American Football.
