Three Images Of St.ives Today

Stop it - Stop it now! My fave place in the known universe and I haven't been for a few years!

Nice pix and familiar views :)

That first one is super Julian - I can smell the seaside!

The last one strikes me as a god b&W candidate for some reason - love the massive scale of the masonry vs the little people

Nick the truth is I spent an hour their and left, just tooooo many people. But yes the turquois water the golden sand is always lifting and at this time of year a reminder of a summer yet to arrive. Sadly the Tate was closed and is until May so could not have a look in. Took myself to Newlyn which was more comfortable a place to meander about. Yet I do appreciate why it is a great holiday destination.

Thanks Chris appreciated. I agree and I did do a B+W copy of the lighthouse. Was not sure if it fitted in as a set.

Lovely seaside set Julian. Love the way they chose to set up in front of the manholes.
I was by the seaside yesterday too and we obviously shared a very uninteresting sky. Horrible harsh bright light but it was lovely later in the afternoon/ early evening. I was in Dungeness on the South Kent coast. I will post some from the outing soon.

Thank Tom. I know that light I have returned this morning with several images that hopefully can be salvaged but it is going to be very hard. Yesterday I could not stay until the evening , I tried but was not going to happen which was a shame. I'd like to visit Dungeness at some point, it looks like an interesting spot. Look forward to your images.

I liked them and I am very glad it wasn't done in Hungary:) Something like Martin Parr I think you have there Julian. Lovely images, especially the first one.

That woman's face in the first is hilarious!
Thanks Hamish. As I arrived at them about 12 or so feet away they looked at me. being braver these days I switched the camera on as they slumped back , then hoped that they were not looking at me as I took the shot, then half expected the confrontation. Fortunately none came, I can just about make out they both have their eyes closed behind the sunglasses. .
