Towing & Minor Repairs

Taken about 20 mins after sunset, just off Interstate 8 at Ocotillo CA.

This gas station has been abandoned for a while now, and is slowly falling apart - the main canopy collapsed last winter, and the site now has a large security fence around it to keep people out of the 'danger area'...

I love that picture, Chris! The wide angle stuff you do is so often delightful. This is one of those! The muted tones are realy cool and the composition works very nicely indeed for me.

Thanks Brian - it was a bit of a rush back from AZ today to get there in time, before the light failed - SWMBO thought I was insane! LMAO!

Provided a nice opportunity to stretch the legs a little before the final push over the mountains back to San Diego :)

I've been on my holidays for the last two weeks - hence the variety of locations posted - 3,500 miles in just over two weeks - I need a vacation!

LOL! You always know you've had a good holiday when you feel like you need a holiday when you get back! :D

That photo was worth the push Chris!

I love the pp you got going on at the moment mate!
Works superb for these derelict building shots you have been doing!
Really like em!

Ta muchly Hamish - I'm getting far more creative in my old age with PP! ;)

Pete - this was yet another max extension on the tripod, peeping over the fence shot - so framing was 'challenging' shall we say.

I either need a bigger tripod or a camera mount that I can bolt onto a fence... Mmmm, that has me thinking...

Here's a version in color for comparison - I actually like the rusty colors of the sign and the surroundings in this case - it's really picked up the last warm glow of the sunset over the mountains.

And here's an alternative viewpoint - complete with tumbleweed

That's the shot I took first, then walked around and found the sign side of the canopy...

The fence in the shot pi$$ed me off a little - would prefer it not to be there
