Yeah, I've seen boards like this before, and loved their tonalities, which you've captured beautifully, Julian. The ear-shaped blue string in the first is intriguing. Nice compositions, with big thick lines directing the canvas, so to speak.
I had to laugh. My eyes immediately went to the first photo and the first thing I thought when I saw the tones in the image was that it would have been a good subject for one of Rob's Quattros. Then I noticed the DP2 Merlin tag and LOL.

Thank you Rob appreciated and yes Ive shot trawl boards in the past, the quay is often cluttered with them, waiting to be repaired or simply a place to store them.

Ha yes John. In fact the Merrill's give more micro cotrast, but with the downside that sometimes the images can look prickly as if over sharpened. In fact it is a bad idea to sharpen Merrill files as a rule, but to attempt to soften them a little. One of the things that attracts me to the Quattros is that lak of the prickle look yet still with acute awareness of the subjects matter.
Thank you John.
I wasn't of these after I took them. Then while re-installing Sigma Photo Pro these popped up again and sort of liked them the second time round. Just means I cannot make my mind up most of the time and am fickle when it comes to images.
