Two aspects of Holy Island

Way back in 2005 I was very much into film and chlorobromide papers. I visited here at that time and took these images with the intention of doing something with them. I have tried to maintain my passion for very warm toned papers like Kodak Royal Bromesko in D163 whilst using digital scanning techniques. I love this kind of imagery even now and feel for a time long ago when photography was new to me. I loved those old Velox papers in D163 developer and contact printing from huge negatives. Oh well...!Holy Island No2.jpgHoly Island No1.jpg

Oh yes, these were taken on a 1975 Hasselblad 500C that was actually 500CM spec using the old style Carl Zeiss 80mm silver lens with no filters.

Thank you again guys. Love your comments. Regarding desolation and loneliness and without wanting to jump on any bandwagon, I think that having a certain mental health condition helps my photography immensely by giving me a certain connection with these places. All I have ever wanted to do is to photograph loneliness and solitude in a way that is empathic with the surroundings I find myself in. Now that I use mainly digital I find it so much easier to produce images of a very 'old' style like the ones I used to produce in a darkroom as, now that true quality papers no longer contain cadmium, I don't think I could achieve my goal.
