Gorgeous colours in that algae, almost like an oil painting. I think I'd be tempted to crop it to make it even more abstract by losing the edges of the support. What do you think?

Here is a cropped version. I see what you mean about making it more abstract, but it looses some of the red rust which I rather like.
I shall be making a return visit, more to see under the pier than I realised.

Looks like oil paint and acrylic. Quite extraordinary. Unfortunately it is a tiny bit out of focus to my ageing eyes, so you'll just have to go back and do it again, Dave!

I think the problem is a bit of camera wobble. Overcast day, not much light under there, shuutter speed was a bit slow.

Nonsense. It looks like a classic case of pier wobble to me. You were doing everything just fine Dave, it was just a big wave hitting the other end.
