made in the wee hours of the morning and then stuck on the interwebs right away. may (read probably will) rework it a little after a decent sleep. vintage travel poster created in photoshop from 6 screenshots taken in the town of dawnstar, located in skyrim, tamriel. i want to make one of each hold or capital city, but we'll see what happens. already have a good idea of what i want from whiterun.

updated files to fullsize, so dload them if you want them. i need to figure out a way to get bigger screenshots. also found out that after taking the compass off of the display i ran the wrong way and this was the town of morthal, not dawnstar.

morthal updated:

Very nice Beth - you're a wizard at PS - you should do a tutorial or six to get us all using more of this wonderful software

Beautiful, I wanna go there, dress like a Hillbilly and just chill out

can i use this as my iphone wallpaper? ...loving it

thanks everyone. now that i'm awake i'm not too fond of the typography, and it shouldn't be pure black either, more of a really dark grey.

thanks for the link hamish, i saw a couple on google that i may have to blatantly copy.

shh... actually, i'm on midnights and have a night off tonight, so something might get done finally. but shhh..

actually, this was really easy. after several months of looking for how to do vintage travel posters (without actually drawing one in illustrator) i finally realized that topaz simplify will do it. i used the flat 1 preset (under line and ink) and ran it on the original screenshot (after it was stitched together). then realized i wanted more detail in the the white hall (the jarl's place) so ran it again on the original with more detail and then layered and masked the two together. incredibly easy.

Very nicely done Beth. Looking forward to the rest of the series. :)

well, unfortunately, that involves having to go back to the game and revisit some of the holds to grab screenshots.
