Viola, up close,

The new photo-tube arrived this morning and so, after dismantling the optics and cleaning everything, I fitted the 20 MP sensor and have been playing with lighting and took a few shots. This one (of the centre of a small Viola) came out nicely.

Low angle polarised light from 2 4K Relio heads. Wild / Leica M420 with 20 MP CCD. PP in LR / Nik ColorEFEX Pro 2.

I forgot to include a shot of the setup showing the new photo-tube and 20 MP CCD - I'd already disconnect the laptop though. As you can see I am running Relio lights from a powered USB hub.

That viola image did indeed come out nice, Pete. I like the colors a lot and also the contrasting OOF-to-sharp/left-to-right is somehow appealing to me. But overall I think it's the golden glow that makes the image.

Thanks, Brian. It is a 4 image stack, but I didn't go crazy with the focus zone as I liked the softness. It is a quite intense yellow, but that is enhanced further by the low light and the polarisation plus a touch of Glamour-Glow from the Nik processing.
