Wailing Wall West

I accidentally shot a roll of Kodak Portra 160 at 800 asa in my friend's Mamiya 7. I decided to cross-process the roll in Rodinal. I processed it in a 1:100 dilution for 3.5 hours. The negs came out looking sharp and well defined in contrast. Only one problem: My scanner's light will hardly penetrate the negs! [doh]

Anyway, I had to play around a lot with settings and all of the images came out of the scanner with pronounced grain. So I imported one or two into PS and played around with them there. Here is one. I consider it a feeble attempt at an artistic look, as opposed to a fotie taken for documentary purposes.

This is the wall of a church around the corner from Olvera Street in Los Angeles. (Olvera Street is the oldest part of the city and is preserved in celebration of the city's Mexican heritage.)

Well, however you arrived at it, you have a nice image. The apparently one-legged penitent makes it, for me, although your name is a bit distracting in this instance (not always). I like it a lot, Brian!

Thanks Lesley. I did put in some glow. But its not called glamour glow in PS. Can't remember what it was called. Anyway, though, thank you very much for the comments.

Apart from the processing which am full of admiration on your ability to turn something round. The image itself, the components, it has a full feeling where you keep looking to see what is happening and finding new things to interpret, which for me makes it a substantial image. As a whole with the interesting processing it is a pleasant viewing. Just love the way the tones create the flatness , which is being challenged by the diagonal of the fence.
Enjoyable image Brian.

Julian, I appreciate your response very much and I want to take it seriously but I every time I look at your avatar any seriousness in me goes right oot the windae! :D

However, thank you for your comments, Julian. Much appreciated. :)
