Critique Welcomed Walt Disney Theater LA

I had some time before a meeting in downtown LA today, so took a side trip to the amazing Walt Disney Theater.

The Frank Gehry-designed building opened in 2003, and is just stunning to see.

This is one building where having a built-in level on your camera is essential - nothing is level or parallel r straight! :D

Worth a visit if you're ever in LA.

Superb series again Chris, especially the B&W one with the two young ladies. I remember the shot that Brian posted of this building - what a wonderful structure it is. I think your shots evoke it really well, especially the detail ones like 'Steel Edges'. Great stuff again Chris.

Have you ever gone back to review your pictures pre and post X-Pro One? You really do seem to have 'melded' with that camera.

I'm with Pete on this set: Superb, especially the two young ladies. I also really like the one of the colored chairs with the wooden walls in the background. Really excellent!

excellent series Chris, that building is brilliant

Thanks chaps - it's pretty hard to shoot a bad picture of the building, it's just stunning from all angles

Pete, the X-Pro1 has been part of a transformational process - it started with moving to primes on the 5DII, then buying the Canonet for the cheap as chips comp, then the X100 - quite the journey.

It's changed the way I shoot, how I comp, and what I shoot - loving the journey :)

A truly awesome set Chris. Actually... you've just made me jump. Ages ago I marked down the one weekend when our London City Hall is open to the public. One of your shots reminded me of that and I just remembered this is the weekend. Heaven only knows how we're going to get up there with all the animals to do as well, but go we must :)

Thanks Lesley - and glad I jogged your memory - wouldn't want to miss the one weekend a year!

Here's 3 more from yesterday's set:

great series. though i think the building was built like that so you couldn't tell if it had been affected by an earthquake..

excellent comps., that last one in the second series is my favorite. love the s curve in the building wall and the curving pathway. nicely seen hidden in all of those other shapes and lines..

Thanks Rob and Beth :)

Beth - you might have a point there about quakes!
