I think I live in a Schrödinger world at the moment, it's full of interesting things until I try to photograph some of them and then they look pants.

So given that you observing the scene flips it into the 'interesting' state and the camera recoding it flips it into the 'uninteresting' state, you could try pointing the camera away from where you are looking. Because you are not observing it, that view should still be in the 'interesting' state when recorded. If it isn't I would take the camera back!

I have a pocket watch that belonged to my Grandfather. Must get it cleaned and running again. My wrist watch was my late father's; bought in 1961.
