Watching the Rain

There were two storms while we were in Venice. The second was at night (http://www.realphotographersforum.com/landscape-architecture/7593-storm-over-venice.html) but the first was in the evening just after we arrived at the hotel. We were sitting in the garden of the hotel having a meeting but then the thunder and lightning started followed by a strong wind. Within minutes the rain was lashing down but within 10 minutes the skies were clear again. Clearly the locals were as impressed as we were!

Superb, Pete. Really good comp. The rain is wonderful, as is the posture of the Lady In Red. You can see her thinking, "What is that idiot doing?".

Thanks Rob. Later in the visit I kept catching glimpses of her in her red coat just disappearing round corners! Very odd!! ;)
You're fine as long as she doesn't suddenly turn around holding a big Knife;).

Cracking shot that one, as someone else said almost paint like in effect & does not look like a photograph at all, I think it is the rain ?
I love it.
