What you voted for, not us Scots, yet once again we have to do what England decides.

I think we're heading much further back, into the Dark Ages. Tally ho, chaps!

Suffice to say that I'm in despair of many of my fellow countrymen, Rob. But best not to dwell too long on politics on a photo forum, eh?

It was in Morecambe and called Vintage by the Sea. It's supposed to be a celebration of British design over the years. A lot of people dress up and there were things like a classic car display, stalls selling vintage clothes and trinkets etc, lots of music and a flypast by a Lancaster bomber among other things. The photo was of people milling around the old cars. I have a few others which I will post later. They depict some extremely strange goings on!

Nice b&w pic, did see a report on the event in the newspaper. I am curious about the trumpet, new earthquake detection device? :)

It's a kind of theatrical art installation type thing, staffed by actors from a theatre company. The public are encouraged to participate by going to the vicinity of one of several flags scattered around the field with a modified instrument. Somewhere nearby to each flag is buried a loudspeaker which is playing sounds or music intended to inspire you or make you reflect on something or other. You go round the site looking for each sonic hotspot.
Fun for all the family, but possibly a bit weird if you're a worm!

Can I ask for some opinions on the first image - the black and white one?
I'll paste it in again, below this post, for easy reference.

How much, if any, do you think the picture is spoiled by the fact that the faces of the two women looking into the pram are blurred a bit by their motion?
I am in two minds about it, but I am erring in the direction of thinking that it spoils things quite a bit. Trouble is that now I have been thinking about it, it's always the first thing I see!

I'd welcome your wisdom, so here's the image again.

Well, the first thing I see (and still seeing, even after you pointing out the blur) is the characterful face of the lady in the striped dress. The blurred faces do not disturb me at all, and, if anything, help with the vintage feel of the image. It livens up the scene and makes one curious about the infant in the 'pram'.

Thanks for that. The other half of my brain agrees with your view that it supports the vintage feel to the image.
Maybe I should just not look at it for a bit and try to see it with 'fresh eyes' in a few days.
