Weathered (and other Still Life)

"... almost love the first." LOL

Thank you for commenting, Rob, although I do not understand enough of the British nuances to really grab your message...:D

Well then, Rob, come over and do it!

Although it would be not so easy: it's really a weathered mirror. Should have replaced it ages ago - already in this state since we bought it almost 25 yrs ago - but somehow it's not done....

Reanse, I was born and educated here as were many of my past family. You are not alone, the local inhabitance find it hard, I think it was a conspiracy by the upper class ;)

I love them both. I presume these are from your Pentax, I simply love the colours that you present, throughout your photography, if they are indicative of Pentax I'd snap up the camera tomorrow. But I suspect they are your own translation and all the better for it.

Merci, Julian! :D

And yes, the're from my Pentax K-5, but the colours are my own interpretation.... So, I'll save you the cost of a new camera....

I use Lightroom for most of my PP.... Only incidentally, in less than 1% of the cases, I make use of Photoshop, but these were processed in LR....

Interesting , thank you. I have both and have started to use LR these last two days and forgot how versatile it is. Problem with the Sigma cameras is I can only work on Tiffs which does limit the manipulation of colours.

But I think you can still do a lot with TIFF files.... Better than JPG's for sure! I've done PP on TIFFs and I think it works fine. Not as good as with RAW files, but still....

Beautiful, Rense. Vanitas? What's the story?

Just one thing troubling me - the reflection of a lamp in the glass, top right. It's also competing with the interesting white spot on the jug. Otherwise, I really like this.

Thank you, Rob! No real story, but dear memories and some slight idea of passing... so Vanitas, but not too deep....

I noticed the reflection, and it took me some time to decide what to do: clone it out, or let it be. I decided the last, it doesn't bother me. But I see what you mean, yes!

Beautiful Rense. I actually like the reflection of the glaze spot onto the glass. Looks a bit like a snowdrop from the engraved glass.
