While on my recent trip to Lyon, France (where I spent some of my teen years), I stopped in to see an underground parking garage. Doesn't everyone visit underground parking garages as part of the tourist circuit?
Anyway, this is no ordinary garage. From the street, all you see is a little open park square, with a strange periscope sticking out of the middle of it (inviting you to take a look):
What you see when you do is a seven-storey well with a constantly rotating mirror at the bottom of it, placed at an angle to reflect the walls around it.
The cars circulate around this well to enter and exit the garage. Since there are two concentric ramps, the cars going up and down never meet.
