Back to the rain again after a beautiful spell of weather, experimenting with my (newly purchased) Canon 12mm MkII extender tube fitted with a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens;

Lovely water droplets on the rose - great use of the weather conditions and the extender tubes

Never used any - are they easy to get on with?

Yes easy to work with, although I believe it turns everything into manual focusing whilst using the EF 12mm tube attached, there's also a 25mm version. Sometimes it's nice to get in tighter etc....

EF 12 =
I think on a FF you can use a lens up to f 8 and get AF . On a crop I think it is F 5.6
EF 25 =
I think on a FF you can use a lens up to f 5.6 and get AF . On a crop I think it is F 4
