What's In The Pram?

It's Venice Beach, after all; could be a pramload of weed! But why? I must have passed half a dozen "medical" marijuana shops. I'm guessing its just a bairn.

Nicely timed Brian. And the thing I like most is the details on the buildings behind. You don't notice them at first but as your eye begins to explore the picture... A few seconds later and she would even have been in their focus!

I think I see what you mean.

My own critique of this photo:

1. Needs more contrast. (Really.)
2. Would love to have caught the woman framed squarely in the white door.

I think the time is fast approaching when you might have to consider some PP Brian. Maybe take the same approach as one would in a traditional darkroom. Adjusting contrast with paper grade etc maybe the odd bit of dodging and burning. But at least some global adjustment at the scanning / post scanning stage.

Hope you don't mind. Curves in LR to simulate G3 print. Gradient of +1.5 stops in sky and about +0.5 stops in the sides and bottom to simulate burning in.

Don't mind it at all, Pete. In fact I appreciate it. The grain appears enhanced. Is that grain that was already there and is just now accentuated?

Yes, and it is probably made slightly more visible by working on the JPEG from the site. I think it would be more subtle based on your original file.
