Shima and her new understudy

Fuji X-T1 and 23mm Lens

Brilliant. Oh, what is going through the young girl's mind? I'd love to know. Is the model her mum?
Thanks Rob - The model (Shima) is only 16, so definitely not her mum! - mum is walking with her other kids in the background. The young girl ran ahead to look at the model :)

Beautifully done Chris.
Thanks Pete - just one of those 'happened in front of me' moments

ah the contrast ,excellent Chris
Thanks Julian

Very thought provoking!
Indeed - so many questions - good role model? etc

What a great shot!
Thanks Brian - pure luck on my part - love it when that happens :)

Here's the shot we were going for at the time

Shima is going to be studying software engineering, and will probably model to pay her way through school.

She's super sharp, and probably the best prepared model I've ever photographed.

Her sister-in-law is Stef, who I shot a month or so ago - and Stef came along yesterday to provide coaching, styling, and to lend moral support.

It's a very small world in the modeling business, and a good name and quality delivery go a long way with referrals etc.

In this case, working with Stef got me the first shoot with Shima, and a chance to bring a new face to the world, and hopefully work with her again in the near future.

Beautiful. She is stunning. Only 16???!!!
I know Rob! - I have to ask for ID to prove age, and have a parent/guardian sign the model release paperwork

On the age question - 16-23 is prime time for modeling here in the US

Over 23, you get less opportunity, unless you specialize, or are already a brand name (supermodel)
