Critique Welcomed Where did the Photographers go?

This shot was taken the night before the official Vivid show starts. They do a lot of testing and there are not many people around.

This year there is a call to boycott Vivid by photographers, championed by the notable Ken Duncan, due to over zealous security guards trying to enforce permits for professional photographers. However, they seem to think that if you own anything beyond a point and shoot or phone that you must be a pro! Tripods are a real giveaway as only pro's use them bro!

That is a beautiful cityscape, love the composition and the colours.

Get the same at music events, the tickets often say, "no professional cameras ie. long lenses". So, a phone with 30x zoom and sound recording is fine, but not a 200mm lens??

Thank you Dave.

It is interesting that the security people are given no guidance or information. around some of the Sydney venues a tripod means you are a professional apparently.

The camera and tripod in view are also mine (being used by my daughter). Perhaps two set ups is an "Uber Professional".

You forgot to mention real photographers shoot in B+W ;), Milan maybe you could make up a professional looking ID tag, pertaining to represent Amateur Photographic Magazine, that would confuse them.
