Hard to believe those doors are large enough for trains. Small trains maybe? Trams? The yellow lever with the reddish handle caused me a little confusion. Until I enlarged the image I thought it was a painted yellow line, and it hurt my head for moment trying to figure out how that could be. Fine image Pete!
It's a nice, fun image. So why am I thinking of a childhood nightmare? Is there a Grimm (no pun intended, but accepted!) tale about a child who meets an old lady standing next to a tree? She invites the child to enter the opening in the tree, whereupon the child falls deep underground. When he awakes, he finds himself in a round room, with different doors leading off into - whatever fears the child has.
Actually I do recall one of those over-dubbed TV series from the late 60s had something about a room under a tree with many doors. Was there a giant dog guarding it too? I don't think it is a tale by the Grimm's or Hans-Christian Andersen though. Czech maybe?
Got it. The Tinderbox. The main character had to choose one of three doors and he could have what was behind. The tinderbox allowed him to summon giant dogs. Hmm, I think I might prefer your dream!
I find it interesting what images we keep in our minds, especially from childhood, and what can trigger the memory of them. In this case a choice of engine shed doors. Amazing.
Well as one gets older, one has a short term memory, but from the past, well that's another story! Going back to childhood again Rob is a good thing I guess and this image certainly did something to you. A fine one.
