Windy Comely Bank Palms

Very windy day, almost blown off our feet in Comely Bank Avenue, Edinburgh. But the wind made for an interesting palm tree exploration. Monochrom Typ 246 and Minolta Rokkor 90mm f4.

palm trees aren't something you'd expect in edinburgh. florida, yea, but not edinburgh. i saw them when i was in ireland as well (i swear i wasn't that drunk), was scratching my head at that. like the movement in the fronds.

I have been thinking about this photo since I first saw it and, firstly, with Rob I am used to very dark photos whereas here he has chosen the opposite path.

Then, it seems to me that the photo is short of breath, i.e. it lacks some space around it (but we all know that you take a photo in the conditions you are in, you can't always choose).

Finally, no one has picked up on a trichological similarity (and this is already a nice step towards the future, leaving 2024 behind).

As I said: I like the photo and its texture. There is much to explore in it.

Gianluca, I have joked to a couple of people that it was a selfie, focussed on my hair - so I agree with your trichological connection - though I had to look it up!

Beth - the western areas of Scotland have many palm trees, but I too am not used to seeing them in Edinburgh.
