I very nearly called this off at the last minute. Feeling as bad as I did, the three mile walk to and from the woods seemed impossible, not to mention clambering about inside on all the fallen boulders. There was no path to be found. I'm glad I went though, in spite of the fact it is reputed to be the most haunted place on Dartmoor - the home of the Devil's wisht hounds...

You could have least stayed until nightfall to get some shots by moonlight Lesley! Still, I suppose we'll have to make do with this!

What gorgeous soft tones. Love the epiphytes all over. I can see why folks might attribute hauntings to the place.

It was actually quite busy in the wood as I must have seen around 20 visitors. However, I did spend true nightfall in the middle of Dartmoor completely alone with another mile to walk back to the car. That proved interesting...

It's pretty dark up there at night isn't it?! I have friends who lived in Chagford for years and I used to visit frequently so I know what you mean.
