Does anyone local to Worcester have a Lacie power supply I could borrow for a day? Mine has packed up and I want to copy the data from the hard drive.

The hard drive connector looks like this: d2_bigger_connector.jpg

Thanks :)

Hi Mark ........... I'll take a look at work on monday............ We have a huge box of all manner of power supply leads (probably more than the Joddrell bank Telescope............. I'll see what I can dig up. If not, at a push, if you get nowt else from anyone........

........ You could send it down to me and I'll get our techies to jury rig a power supply so you can power it up.

I'll let you know what happens Monday.

Cheers :) Normally I'd take the drive out and put it in another caddy but it has some odd connectors (this is code for: I took a quick look and thought "that's not SATA" and gave up).

The plug is the same as the old PS/2 type of affair. If you can't find one please let me know and I'll bring one back from Germany next time as there are a few in the studio there. I'll check at ISML as well as I think the Lacie external CD drive used the same connector.

I'll see if I can find a local PS2 owner unless Hamish has any luck (would be useful to work out if it's the drive or the PSU that is dead). I didn't have time over the weekend to remove it from the caddy but will try tomorrow. Thanks for the help & suggestions :)

I think we might be talking about different PS2s. IBM PS/2 keyboard and mouse connector. Lacie used the same profile for their power leads.
