Haha! I almost missed a boat long time ago. At the ferry between Italy and Corsica, the ship was almost leaving. We were in the car, an old Wolksvagen Polo, metallic red, with a sunroof (the car I miss the most). The embarkation attendant was directing traffic and we were late because of paperwork. The attendant signalled to us to move, to hurry up and get into the ferry. I trusted him blindly (he was the embarkation attendant, after all, he certainly knew things and what could possibly go wrong?).
So I set off to board the ship, but the ship starts to move. I accelerate to full throttle and like in a James Bond movie I land on the boarding ramp. A delay of a couple of seconds and my wife and I would be resting at the bottom of the sea today.
Never trust the experts.
Flung by some building eating beast ... scoring a direct hit on dinner. (But I suspect many more can relate to your title than mine of "Thar She Blows!"
(The people are tiny parasites subsisting in the bowels of a building which is soon to be a meal.)
