I've just bought one, and I'm deliriously excited!
This is the fella - http://lenses.zeiss.com/camera-lenses/en_de/camera_lenses/zeiss-ikon/biogont235zm.html

I've mulled over the problem of all purpose lens for the M7 for a little while... Nearly went for the 50mm planar, but in the end I know I am much more comfortable with wider lenses.

I wanted something "good" that would impart a neutral character on my images. Something that I can rely on ...

I did think to save up for the Leica equivalent, but when even the second hand, tatty ones from decades ago go for £200-£300 more ... I just couldn't bring myself to it! Maybe one day ... ...

EXCITED! :)

I was half hoping you had one ...
It does read well eh, there is a poll on rff asking which is better, it of ot the cron asph and its 50/50 ... I know polls on forums dont say an awful lot, but its quite impressive considering the price difference.

I have no experience with the Zeiss RF stuff (nor much of the Leica stuff either for that matter) but I can whole heartedly endorse the 35mm as a "normal" lens. I have owned a number of 50's over the years for different 35mm cameras, and never got comfortable with it. My experience is that you're either a "35 guy" or a "50 guy". I certainly know where I am.

Enjoy the lens.

Make sure to blow some highlights so your photos will be artistic

Mmmmm Zeiss goodness - looking forward to seeing what you do with it H

I'm definitely a wide of normal, normal kind of person ... I like a 28, but I find many of the joys of framing with an RF lost when using one... And the limit on close focusing is a little long with such a wide lens I find. 35 has recently felt like the happy medium it used to ...
50 is definitely a shot tele lens for me!

I shall blow some highlights just for you as soon as I can Keith! ;)

Cheers Chris, me too!
