    Contax and Cars

Thanks Paul. I once had a classic mustang collector approach me about drawing each of his cars but nothing ever came of it.

    Contax and Cars

Yes Gary. It was this skill that led me into photo retouching. The ability to render fine details by hand blends perfectly with working on photographs. Pencils (graphite and colored) brushes and digital Wacom pens with pad. I discovered my love for drawing while in the 5th grade. I still have...

    Contax and Cars

Paul, Thanks for that amazing over-story and photos. We have a lot of similarities in our career stories. I've always been the behind- the- scenes guy producing the billable work. I've produced numerous photo exhibition works for various photographers over the years. Most recently I was honored...

    Contax and Cars

WOW! That sounds amazing. But I know it was a lot of hard work. Do you have one build that still stands out in your memory? My brother-in-law was a car fancier. He didn't restore or build, just own. One was a T-bucket, I think that's what he called it. He also owned a couple classic Rivieras, a...

You'd certainly be stylin' driving one of those cars. The instrument panel on that next to last shot sure brings back memories. More metal just in the construction of the dash than in many new cars.:)

Mazinger vs Godzilla: Same Water, Different Towers

Gianluca, Here's my contribution. A local car dealership was having a 'Monster Sale'. I thought it would be the perfect use of some newly acquired Kodak Ektar 25. The year was 1989. This is part of my Dallas County photo series, now approaching 50 years of documentation(1978-?), that I hope to...

    Picture Post, a humble tribute

These sound very interesting. These types of locations just seem meant for b&w. The rust, peeling paint and various metal objects. I like large industrial equipment also. The mass of steel yet the precision and delicacy of it's construction. I'm one who considers my film archive an alternate...

    Picture Post, a humble tribute

Ok, here are the final two. The image with the rainbow was my initial inspiration to do these. I did that one first. I have to tell a little of the backstory of this moment. I had left Yellowstone National Park and was driving in a light rain. It was late day and the temperature was in the...

    Picture Post, a humble tribute

I dug out my 1979 photos from the 1960's to 2000's bin. There are four total but only had time right now to scan and work up these two. These prints were probably made in 1980. They were Type R prints. This was prints made directly from transparencies. As you can see they are showing their age...

    Picture Post, a humble tribute

Love it! I think this is one of the fun aspects of photography in that it can inspire fun and crazy projects. This get's me to thinking about another real and imagined series I created from the 1970's. Hmmm, where are those prints?

    Accidental irony

It's amazing how quickly technology changes. I now feel the need to mention that NO AI was used in the creation of this final work. All done with basic clone, healing, masking techniques and a touch of my own imagination mixed with hand drawing skills and a digital Wacom pen/pad.

Thanks Gianluca and Peter. My brain has a tendency to connect thoughts in a wonky manner at times and the end result can range from interesting to what was I thinking. This one is a favorite of mine. Peter, here's a link to another post on this Forum. It includes another "Real and Imagined "...

    Accidental irony

I really enjoy images like this. Here's one of mine that I made into a card. I modified the layout for this post. I have a photo series titled "Real and Imagined" and this image is part of the series. When I took this shot I positioned myself so one of the highline wires passed through the teeth...
