5000 Shades Of Grey

Very nice pictures there, I like the bridge opening in third, sort of makes you wonder what's beyond (I know it's in the 1st too, but the foliage is a bit overgrown there) :D

Adam - thanks. What is beyond is pretty much more of the same. I love this walkway, meandering through Edinburgh, watching the river flow. Lots of photo ops.

Brian - Good question. It's coming up to a year since I joined this site, and it's almost exactly a year since I bought my K1000 with a view to exploring this photography lark. So I'm taking stock, as it were, looking back through my folders. Man, there's some crap in there! ;) But every now and then something pops out as being worth a second look. I think I posted these images here before, but I had upped the saturation way beyond what I would now consider an acceptable level. Quite comical, really. But I was experimenting (as I still am) trying to understand what the processes are, pushing here and there (as I still do) and sometimes going too far (as I still do!). But shots like these show that I had a basic grasp of composition. So, there's hope for the lad yet...

The top one for me Rob, as I have said , love the layers, depth, lines, the whole make up. which comes together like a good collage of differing components. Nature reclaiming from man, the viaduct.

Definitely worth the revisit Ron (:)). I like all three but there is something extra about the last one - there is a slightly uneasy feel to it. It kind of reminds me of a mid-70s horror film or similar. Nice! :)
Pete,...check you keyboard. I think B and N might have swapped places when you weren't looking. :D

Nice Tones. We can distinguish all of the 5000 shades on those stones. To be honest the first one looks to me a bit hmm ..flat? The other two though have really impressive tones concept and composition! Great work Rob!

I've been thinking that too, about the first being flat, and have been planning to return to it this evening if I get the time. But I'm glad you mentioned it, Peri, as it backs up what I was feeling about it. Thanks for the other nice comments too!
