We are having the steps made wider and more shallow but to save some cash I've being doing the demolition and brick cleaning ... Belive it or not it's goin to save me £1000 of a quote that isn't twice that!

Hamish,
I'm very dissapointed..... Why didn't you invite me!?! I love dismantling!!
My middle name is demolition! Lol.
Good effort, I'm sure it will come along nicely :)

Haha...
i did actually blah a mate to come and help
id say come tomorrow, but I just have brick cleaning to do now before the builder wants to come and check mmy progress and I only have one hammer chissel thingy ... Not to mention the fact that I can't imimagine for one minute you would want to spend the day chiseling 100 year old mortar off blue bricks!

The pile of bricks on the right is what I have to clean...

Someone's stolen your steps Hamish! :D

That looks like shed loads of hard labor - I see the weather has turned suitably warm then?

This may sound disturbing (as I am wierd at the end of the day)....... Yet again, I'd of love to!! :D:D
Good luck with it... Be interesting to see the results which I'm sure you'll show us all :):)

You are nuts Dan ... Although I wish I had spotted this earlier ... I underestimated the effort to complete the demolition

My hands a ****ed ...
Im so tired ... I have a god damn office job, I'm not made for this sorta lark!

There's an easy way of doing this sort of job Hamish.........................liver in a house on the level :D a cheaper solution for gettting fit than going to the gym too :D

oh and I should have said, I'd love to have helped you but I had an important appointment with my feet-up stool :D:D:D

Keep up the good work, you know it'll be work it but couldn't you do the brickying too and photog it after :D

Good effort .......... Those bricks are nearly as clean as your door knocker

We got this house pretty cheap because of, amongst other things, these walls falling down... Hoping getting this sort of thing done will add to the value so next time I can afford a house that needs less doing ... And yeah Kev, is on the flat!
Its all fun though, it might hurt, but I'm learning stuff, and getting more confident at this sort of thing ...
as for the brick laying ... It did occur to me to do it my self, but I've not done it before... Gonna help this time, ask loads of stupid questions then next time I'll be set!
Its the front retaining wall next :)
that said, at 3 this avo I was cursing everything ... The original builders were my main source of annoyance, god damn 19th century bastods!

Here she is ... My current best friend, basking in the sun light!
I don't know what I would have done without her 2000bpm odd of breaking power over the last couple of days
