Got into canon simply through chance more than anything, and have been very happy with the results of having gone down that route. No plans to change.

Looking to add a 17-40 F4 L, and a 70-200 sometime in the not too distant future.

Interesting, but what you do with it is far more interesting. Hardware is only significant when it empowers you to produce great images - unless you are simply a camera-buff who loves inanimate objects for their own sake, or draws your own sense of self-importance from the toys you collect compared to the other kids on the block. Certainly a good basic kit - that in the hands of a real shooter - can produce great images.

I like to think (nay, hope) that my photographs justify the equipment

athough must admit on some level i do quite enjoy the kit as an end in itself as well as a means to an end.
