I think #1 has a real magical feel to it - the shade really adds to the shot

Hi Rense. That first shot's a winner for me. The bright green leaves against the darker background is really nice, especially with the blue flowers covering the ground. I might clone out or tone down the bright spot just above the bluebells where the bark has come off one smaller tree. It attracts my eye to much.

I agree with the others, number one is rather special. But as an image I like the abstracts even more! Are these all the native species?

Yes, they are all native species (the blue one is Bluebell, Hyacinthoides non-scripta)

I just wondered as the Spanish variety has started to 'invade' the woodlands in the UK and there are now quite a lot of hybrids replacing the native species.

In the 80's the same problem was described for the Netherlands. In our dunes we have some bluebell forests, but the only 'species' you find here are intermediates between the native species and the Spanish one! But in the Hallerbos, all plants - as far as I can say, didn't check them all! - look genuine non-scriptas!
