Abandoned Bomber County

An image shot in April 2024 of an old abandoned airfield runway high up on the Wolds in Lincolnshire. I visit this place every time I return to my spiritual home. The feeling of isolation is high apart from the lunatics who use the roads here as racetracks. Lincolnshire has some very fine roads for scratching along as indeed I used to do on motorbikes years ago. A great deal of the fun is now ruined by speed cameras. Image shot using a Nikon D4S with a Nikon 28-70mm f2.8 AFS zoom. ISO was 100 and f stop was wide open at f2.8

that's great. looks like a scene outta fallout.

there's a special place in hell for whoever invented the speed camera. they tried them around here in my state but the idea was scrapped the first time a state politician got a ticket. now they can only go up in construction zones. maybe governmental corruption can be a force for good once in a while.
