Always a must to get some trees in somehow.....

The Abbey Tower, believe it or not this is actually a view rarely seen by many as its looking over a six foot wall and the average Hobbit person would not see it..;)

Kev a great shot. The lighting is similar to when you're a child and in the dark shine a torch up the face from under your chin to scare people with you.
Say no more.

That's a great shot. I love the ghostly trees, especially the ones on the right with the back-light halo.

How long an exposure was this?

Thanks Each, the Abbey is always a source for me, sadly I missed a pretty effective lighting/shadow effect caused by heavy drizzle the other night due to not having a decent thumb pod to hand :D

I should have posted details Andrew.. sorry

Thanks Kev, I'm going to start night photography once the weather warms up a bit, always interested to know how people approach things. I tried it before, but I didn't have a tripod, and didn't appreciate just how important a tripod is... :)

Andrew I often haven't got a tripod with me unless I am going out specifically at night but I always have the X10 with me so make use of timer and a firm grip using what ever is available. ;)

That is pretty sharp Kev. Even when you brace the camera on a wall or something else fixed you can cause some some small movements by not being perfectly still. Well I can anyway! The trees have a bit of a spooky feel to them that seems to fit with the gothic-ish building.
