Absolute banality

It is flat and rather ugly where I live. Sunday 5 PM on the way to the lake to take for their evening hike. The Nikon 20mm F3.5. I was trying out this lens today to see if I would want the 14mm from Fuji. It's very hard for me to use a lens this wide. The fence post I found in a field well off the trail. The dogs frequently loose interest in the trail and I end up in the middle of nowhere. This of course somewhat explains the snake bites, stitches, and other calamities that frequently befall us. This one I think was at 7 PM.

I love the separation it gets of subject from background, and those skies look HUGE!

I'll definitely get the 14mm when it arrives - looking forward to getting some really wiiiiide shots

Steve you've done a pretty good job here. Flat landscapes can be challenging but when they work it is often a WOW when they do. It can be an opportunity to make negative space in an image to work.

There's nothing wrong with flat as you've proved here. I love both the shots, but especially the post. You've used the road to good effect in the second one
