Across The Pond

Hexar and XP2. Edited in LR and Nik Colour. I even attempted to add my name, bottom left, but it needs to come out more. What do you think? I don't want my name to be a feature! and don't mind if you come across it after looking for a few moments.

I really like this Rob I prefer the pre Nik. The watermark fine just need to move it over a tad. I don't watermark anymore because if someones going to steal your work there going to steal it with or without a watermark. Then there'd have to be as blind as me to want to steal my images:cool:

Yes, I kind of agree with you about watermarks. I'm just toying with the idea. I was also just wondering how it's done in LR. Now I know!

As Martin says, I like the latter , but with no watermarks. If anyone steals my image, it'll only be a compliment to me. If by chance they earn a lot on it, well, I'll be there to collect too:D

I like the first one best, Rob. The second one has too much detail for me. I think the added detail in the foliage and in the reeds detracts from the mystery and beauty of the image. This to me speaks somewhat to one reason I prefer film over digital. Digital so often gives more detail than I personally need (or want) to see.

Then take a seat, Brian, as you are in for a shock...

The second one is as it came out of the Hexar, with just my name added.

The first one is the same image, having been run through Nik Colour, where I added Glamour Glow, which to my eye and aesthetic taste, sometimes (not always) helps create a mysterious atmosphere, and softens some of the detail. It has to be said, sometimes the Hexar is too sharp.

Love the first one. It has a certain atmosphere that evokes feeling. It's almost like something out of time.
