After a new compact.

I'm away next week for a few days and can't be bothered to take my Canon or Fuji Bridge cameras so I'm thinking of getting a compact to stick in my pocket.
The Sony RX100 is a bit more than I'd like to spend, I thinking more like up too £200.
One I've been looking at is the Fuji F770 which I can get for just under £200 which has quite a big zoom (25-500mm), 1080p video and GPS, although I'm not bothered about the GPS bit, but I do like the 1080p video and the big zoom;).

Anyone have any other recommendations???

The Panasonic Lumix TZ30 is a fabulous camera and subject to a £35 cash back promotion. Amazon have just about the best prices but it is worth a quick Google. The zoom is brilliant, it has GPS and the reviews are more than glowing.

I have the TZ10 which was the first of the series but my eldest son has the TZ30 and he loves it.

Whilst I am a Fuji fan, their compacts are not as good as the Lumix (IMHO) and the Fuji F660 compact was one camera which was returned rather quickly to Amazon.

As an option you might like the Nikon P7100. It is a bit larger than most compacts but does fit in a coat pocket. It has equiv. 28 to 200mm zoom and RAW capability. I have the P7000 with is wonderful (in my eyes) but quite sluggish but this has supposedly been fixed in the P7100. Its not an all things to all people camera by any means though, you either love it or hate it.
