The rigging is remarkable and you've depicted it very well indeed, Dave. Is that a live human being or a manikin in the 3rd image?
 
All great images, Dave. I particularly love the contrast between the outward-looking hope of the ship, setting out on a journey to conquer the world, and the squat money-churning centres that hope turned into, of greed and exploitation, all done from an office by people who have never felt the salt on their lips or the wind literally in their sales.

Brian; that is a manikin in the picture, but there was a rigging crew there painting tar onto some of the ropes too.

I know what you mean Rob. One could argue that she was built for a London based shipping co. to bring back the fruits of the empire for a fat profit; the rich / poor divide was the same then as now. To me, the sad thing is that she will never sail again. I feel the same about museums of cars or planes; they should be out there, doing their thing.
