An apartment building that I recently shot for an architect

They are all stunners!

Love the movement in #1 and the pop of red color

Lighting in #2 and #3 is superb - my favorite time of day

Comp in #3 with the telegraph/power pole is genius

Can't elaborate much on why Chris says, Darren. Wonderful shots as usual. I #1 the clouds really add to the image. In #2 I really like how the street lamp pops out and also the LOFT sign. In #3 I love how the apartment is framed by the wires and the pole.

Thanks, guys! Really appreciate it! It was really a question of trying to use what was around the building to provide context.

You almost have a repeating pattern in the clouds in the first ... I like that, especially as they look to be moving in the same direction as the train!
As for the others, you couldn't ask for better light really could you... And certainly well composed!

Darren you are one of my favorites on here, in fact I look for your avatar when I browse new threads and these images are an example of why I do so.
Being new to architectural photography it's quite a fortune I think and an inspiration to be able to view work like this and interact with the photographer by whom it was created.
would love to get your input on some of my new stuff I've worked on
Keep them coming, you are awesome...

You have been posting some really good images recently Darren. I have enjoyed looking at them very much (in between the bouts of self denial and envy). In the past I had very little interest in architectural photography and while I won't be buying a TS lens any time soon (that's probably denial talking again) you photos have really given me an appreciation of the subject.

Thank you, Fidel, and thank you, Paul. I just read both of your notes and am sincerely touched by your kind words about my work. As much as I like to think I'm only taking pictures for myself, the opinions of people like yourselves whom I greatly respect does matter a lot to me. I'm happy to share so please don't hesitate to ask any questions about anything I'm doing. I also welcome criticism because I honestly am never completely satisfied with anything I've done :-).

@Fidel: I am happy to offer feedback on your work. It's great to have another architectural photographer from San Diego on this board. Let me know how I can help.

@Paul: You don't need a TS lens to do architectural photography - just an appreciation for our built environment and a desire to capture it! Very glad to hear I've given you an appreciation for the subject. My original goal was to shoot these buildings that I love in the hopes that others would also appreciate them so happy to have an example of where that worked! :-)

Thanks again, everyone! It's always a pleasure to stop by here and I can get lost for hours admiring everyone's work.

Thank you very much, Lesley. Not sure how much this relates to men or women but I first started to get into architectural photography after having many conversations with people who would ask "what's so special about that building?" Photography was the best means for me to explain and to get people to stop and notice what they otherwise may pass by without a second glance.
